A Grade Teak
Grade A Teak wood is mature heartwood of a teak tree, and the tree needs to be about 20 years old or more. This is the timber that comes from the very center of the trunk of a teak tree. It is a uniform 'warm honey' colour, close grained, oily to the touch, very dense and rich in protective oils and relatively expensive. A very strong wood, that is naturally resistant to the elements and should easily last a lifetime.
Klin dried below 12 percent
The moisture in the hardwood or teak makes the wood to shrink or expand with changes in temperature and humidity, causing gaps and cracks to the wood surfaces. If joints expand or contract too much, the furniture may become unusable. Therefore drying wood is important to maintain the durability and functionality.
Wood drying reduces the moisture content of teak wood. Triconville uses klin drying to reduce the moisture levels. The process of drying teak wood takes 3 - 4 weeks, as the wood must be dried slowly so that it does not crack. Triconville manufacturing plant in Indonesia dries the teak wood below to 12 percent to attain high performance and durability.
Tenon mortise joinery
The mortise and tenon joint functions by inserting one end of a piece of wood into a hole in another piece of wood. It's that simple. Triconville has equipped with machinery and tools that help to achieve tenon and mortise joints to attain simple and maximum strength joints. It's considered one of the strongest woodworking joints for attaching two pieces of wood at 90 degrees.
